This project is a three-week immersion in
language and culture of Argentina, with a particular focus on Buenos
Aires, the cultural capital of Latin America. It is open for all
students ready to experience this bustling metropolitan city. The
participants in the project will engage in studying of Spanish at the
Vía Hispana language school. Upon arrival students will the placed to
the appropriate level (from beginner’s level to advanced) and will take
four hours a day of class taught by Argentine instructors. Afternoons
and evening will be dedicated to a series of cultural activities in
Buenos Aires, from theatre performances, films, cafés, art exhibitions
and museum visits to tango lessons and city tours following the
footsteps of such historical figures as Evita Perón, Carlos Gardel,
Diego Maradona or Ché Guevara. Students will be staying with Argentine
families to further explore the local way of life The final week of
Spanish instruction will be in Patagonia, including visits to the Parque
Nacional Tierra del Fuego and the Museo del Fin del Mundo. This Interim
also includes a visit to the Iguazú waterfalls, a natural wonder on the
border with Brazil and Paraguay. |
