The Japanese Gardens

Stowe: Lamport Fields and the Japanese Gardens

The Japanese Gardens are a wilderness area to the east of the Palladian Bridge. A pond feeds the waterfall that flows into the eastern end of the Octagon Lake under the Palladian Bridge. The entire area is fenced, but on the northern edge you can find a beautiful specimen of a weeping beech. For further information on this garden feature see Michael Bevington's book Stowe: The Garden and the Park.
